After my second child was born, I hired a personal trainer with the primary goal of losing the last of the "baby weight" I had put on. For the first time in my life, I was committed to my fitness goals. I showed up for my workouts and focused on my nutrition. I worked hard. I lost the weight. But more importantly, I started to enjoy the feeling of my increased strength and endurance. I started doing things I thought I wasn't cut out for. I started running outdoors. I signed up for races and obstacle challenges. Within a couple of years I was running marathons. I was doing things that in my younger years I wouldn't have thought were possible for me.
On my left shoulder I have a tattoo of a blue rose. Throughout literature a blue rose has come to symbolize that which is unattainable. My blue rose is a reminder of my journey. It is a reminder of my gratitude for discovering abilities I didn't know I had. It is a reminder of endless possibilities. Now, my goal is to help you unlock yours.
